Randstad Employment Agreement
Randstad was founded in 1960 by Frits Goldschmeding and Ger Daleboudt, both economics graduates at VU University in Amsterdam. When Goldschmeding was to write a work at VU University in Amsterdam, his professor advised him to write a work on temporary work, on which there was little literature at the time. After completing his graduation thesis, Goldschmeding decided to turn the theme of his graduation story into a business. The first leaflets for the company were typed into the room on the top floor of Goldschmeding in the student house at the Sloterkade in Amsterdam. The agency was called Uitzendbureau Amstelveen. When the number of acting agencies (for example. B ASB, Manpower Inc., Evro and Tempo-Team) have increased, interim agencies have acquired a bad image. Some of the criticism was political; Trade unions and left-wing parties wanted the government to have more control over the labour market and the employment service. Unions feared that temporary workers would not have rights, that they would only earn permanent workers, that employers would replace permanent jobs with temporary jobs, that only those who were relatively mobile would have fixed-term jobs, and that temporary workers would be squalid and heavy jobs. However, Randstad felt that he was looking for jobs for people who would not otherwise be active in the labour market. 3.1 This site is protected by intellectual property rights, including copyright, database and trademark rights, and these rights are the property of Randstad N.V., its licensees or contributors to this site.
